At 14 cm across, this Mabechigawa Ishi suiseki has a little more presence while remaining well suited to a tabletop display. Give it space on its own, or place it thoughtfully alongside bonsai, so its shape and natural character can be appreciated.
Suiseki is the Japanese art of appreciating stones that suggest landscapes or scenes from nature. A simple, uncluttered setting leaves room for your own impressions to emerge each time you look.
Your stone comes with a daiza: a wooden display stand custom-made to fit its individual contours, supporting it in its intended viewing position. A map showing where in Japan the stone comes from is also included, along with a verification note of authenticity from our supplier.
Dimensions: 14 cm wide × 8 cm deep × 11 cm high. Weight: 1 kg.
Curious about the art behind the stone? Read Suiseki: A Little Stone, a Much Larger World for an introduction to Japanese viewing stones and the pleasure of displaying them.
