How to Care for your Airplant

Air plants (Tillandsia bergeri) are unique, soil-free plants that absorb moisture and nutrients through their leaves. With the right balance of light, airflow, and careful watering, they are incredibly easy to maintain and make a striking, modern addition to any home or workspace.

Light

  • Thrives in bright, indirect light such as a sunny windowsill or well-lit indoor space.

Watering

  • Mist 2–3 times per week.
  • Soak the plant in room-temperature water for 20–40 minutes once a week.
  • Reduce misting during humid or rainy periods.
  • Avoid leaving the plant constantly damp or in stagnant moisture.

Airflow

  • After watering, place the plant in a well-ventilated area or in front of a fan to ensure it dries fully.
  • Good airflow is essential to prevent rot and maintain plant health.

Temperature & Humidity

  • Best kept between 10–32°C.
  • Does not tolerate frost or freezing conditions.
  • Handles low humidity well.
  • Avoid placing in bathrooms or kitchens where oils, steam, or particles may affect the plant.

Proper care ensures your air plant remains healthy, vibrant, and long-lasting. The key is balance: light, water, and airflow working together to mimic its natural environment.
